The Sun rises, I wake. The Moon rises, I return home. The stars rise, I go to sleep. If you are asleep when the Sun rises, if you go to work hungry after the Moon has risen, and if you arrange to meet someone after the stars have come out, you will get yourself into serious trouble. Just as certainly, whoever believes they can attain the Divine Life without witnessing the sunrise is mistaken; whoever believes they can attain Divine Love without witnessing the rising of Venus is mistaken; and whoever believes they can become truly learned, or receive clear and inspired, poetic thoughts, without witnessing the rising of Sirius, is mistaken as well.
